JFK - John F. Kennedy International Airport

Opened in 1948 the JFK International Airport is one of the busiest international gateways, serving over 41 millions passengers every year with even almost 50 millions passengers in 2012. It is also one of the biggest international air cargo centers worldwide and the hub for American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways.
For large rooms, such as in an airport terminal where air distribution via ceiling diffusers is not possible or practical, jet nozzles and displacement flow diffusers can be the solution. Jet nozzles are especially used when supply air has to travel a large distance to the occupied zone. Behind the faceplate of the displacement air towers, geometrically arranged nozzles with integral air deflector scoops are installed to provide optimal flow equalization across the diffuser. Displacement flow diffusers come in different shapes and can be customized, what makes them the ideal solution for airports.
To meet the specific requirements in an airport TROX USA installed its air conditioning and ventilation components. Jet Nozzles as well as Displacement Air Towers were mounted in the terminals to provide quality air as well as safety and comfort. The air towers were customized with cameras, speakers and lighting.

Seattle–Tacoma International Airport

Constructed by the Port of Seattle this airport opened in 1944 and improved since then to one of the most sustainable airports in the United States. Located between the cities of Seattle and Tacoma, Sea-Tac Airport is the 16th busiest airport in the US with over 33.2 million passengers in 2012 and is the primary hub for Alaska Airlines, serving 77 non-stop domestic destinations and 17 international cities.

TROX USA already installed its products in the 1990s and since then Sea-Tac Airport is a returning customer. Due to its environmental, award-winning programs, Sea-Tac Airport considered economic air conditioning and ventilation systems. Passive Multi-Service Chilled Beams were mounted in the subway train stations and other accommodations. The MSCBs provide economic cooling and can be customized with smoke detectors, speakers, lighting and other services. Furthermore Jet Nozzles type DUK were installed in different halls and terminals at the Sea-Tac airport. Jet nozzles are especially used when supply air has to travel a large distance to the occupied zone.
