TROX USA has released a white paper response to the May 2013 ASHRAE Journal article titled VAV Reheat Versus Active Chilled Beams & DOAS.  The article compares a streamlined VAV system to an inefficiently designed active chilled beam/DOAS system.  The article compares first costs and energy usage while assessing other claimed benefits of ACB systems. 
The white paper, A Real-World Anaylysis of Chilled Beams vs. VAV, details the limitations of the ACB system described by the authors and suggests simple modifications to the ACB system that reverse the conclusions drawn by the article.
