TROX Care

RUNNING TO HELP OUR "PALS" at POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE!

TEAM TROX hit the ground running during pal's annual 5K Fundraiser

TROX USA volunteer’ runners, Albert Williams IV (and wife Denise), Lovie Milsap, Phil Millians, Cynthia Dumont, Kevin Cash (and wife Allison), Jacques Baya and Melanie Ham, supported the Alpharetta Police Athletic League (PAL) by participating in the 10TH Annual Alpharetta PAL Patrol 5K! The community-based organization's mission is to provide an environment of "Leaders Building Leaders" for the youth of North Fulton County. We were happy to support our colleague, Albert Williams, IV, who works with Alpharetta PAL year-round. Way to go “Coach” Al, and all of the TROX runners completing the race for a great cause!

CURE CHILDHOOD CANCER - LEADING THE CHARGE TO BEAT CHILDHOOD CANCER!

CARING FOR PRECIOUS RESOURCES IS WHAT WE DO AT TROX AND NONE IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN THE LIFE OF A CHILD

Every year the TROX USA team works together to seek out worthy charities where our support can have a powerful impact on those around us.  CURE was founded right here in Atlanta, Georgia, where TROX USA calls home, back in 1975 by Emory University oncologist Dr. Abdel Regab to support its pediatric oncology research program. In the last 10 years alone, CURE has raised more than $32 million to fund research and support thousands of childhood cancer patients and their families. We are truly grateful for the work of CURE.

helping the environment - lifecycle building center of greater atlanta

Reducing construction solid waste & pRomotING RESOURCE EFFICIENCY

TROX USA supports the mission of the Lifecycle Building Center of Greater Atlanta as a Community Partner, along with many of Atlanta's leading A/E/C businesses. By partnering with LBC, TROX USA is able to support the group's mission to make the lifecycle use of the built environment increasingly efficient and sustainable

Helping children - helping veterans

AFLAC Cancer center of CHILDREN'S HEALTHCARE OF ATLANTA

TROX USA was proud to support Falcon's Quarterback, Matt Ryan, during his annual Dinner for 2 with #2, which generates thousands of dollars every year for the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Hundreds of community members came out to support the event and to get the chance to meet Mr. Ryan and retired Atlanta Quarterback, Steve Bartkowski. The MVP of the event was a brave young man and his family who spoke passionately about his battle with childhood cancer and of the importance of the research and care provided by the Aflac Cancer Center.  TROX USA was proud to have played a small part in helping win the battle against childhood cancer!

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY - Home repair program

TROX Volunteers PROUD TO HELP local veteran & FAmily

TROX USA team members spent a wonderful day with Habitat for Humanity project leaders to complete much needed home repairs for a local retired US Military Veteran and his disabled wife as part of Habitat's Home Repair Program. A team of 21 TROX USA volunteers worked tirelessly to complete home improvements including the repair and painting of a two-story deck, exterior window sashes and porch columns; the installation of a French drain around the exterior of the home to mitigate flooding during heavy rains and minor plumbing repairs. All of this was completed in one busy day with a great team effort!

TROX Care — Environmental Stewardship & Social Responsibility

In addition to manufacturing sustainable and energy efficient products, TROX USA is committed to developing a sustainable and green work environment. From the factory floor to the executive offices we are examining our practices and working towards a more robust recycling effort, increasing our use of recycled paper for printing and reducing water and energy consumption.

As a manufacturing company, we purchase, consume and generate different materials. Our primary focus is the recycling and reuse of generated and purchased materials. By intensifying our efforts in this area, TROX USA has a achieved a reuse and recycling rate of 95%. That means that 95% of what we purchase and consume is reused or recycled.

Reduce, reuse & recycle:

  • all corrugated materials, both generated and that from vendors and suppliers, is recycled or reused
  • all wood palettes are taken and processed by a chipping company
  • all scrap metal, e.g. steal or aluminum, is recycled
  • not only do we recycle materials from our production processes, but on all levels within the company. In all offices recycled paper is used and waste is recycled.

Energy Saving Initiatives:

  • Our efforts in terms of efficient energy use are still in their early development stages. However, we also strive to improve our approach. Currently, all air compressors are operated only when they actually need to run. Thereby, we try to minimize our use and not to waste energy.

COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY!

In 2014 TROX USA introduced TROX Care, a company-wide program to promote our sustainability efforts and support our local community through volunteering and fundraising! Following are just a few of the community efforts lead by the TROX USA team, because we know that our communities are only as strong as we make them!

Employee Engagement:
TROX employees take great pride in what they do. Being a leader in sustainability also requires leadership in the workplace and in the communities in which we live. Employee efforts can be seen in a variety of areas, but we have chosen a few to highlight.

  • Members of the production and management team volunteered at the 2013 Greater Gwinnett Championship golf tournament to benefit several local children's charities including Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Gwinnett Children's Shelter and the Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation, among others. With dedicated volunteers like the team from TROX, the tournament raised $165,901. Thank you to all of those that volunteered!

  • The first annual TROX USA Blood Drive was organized at our facility and employees stepped up to help those in need once again! Neighboring companies were also invited to participate to help our local hospitals provide for the needs of patients. The mobile unit of LifeSouth, a non-profit community blood supplier for hospitals in Alabama, Georgia and Florida, managed the drive and did an exceptional job! For more information or to organize a company blood drive visit www.lifesouth.org.

  • TROX team members also participate in a variety of charitable and community activities outside of the workplace, including the Police Athletic/Activities League (PAL). PAL is a nonprofit community-based organization with a goal to engage police officers, firefighters and community volunteers to teach and interact with our youth. From after school programs to tutoring, music classes, sports, camps and mentoring and leadership programs, PAL offers a variety of positive opportunities for kids of all ages to join in the fun! One exceptional TROX team member volunteers his time to teach boxing to kids and is active with PAL's leadership program. PAL also promotes helping others by assisting a variety of charities, including raising money for children in Sierra Leone (Africa) to collecting coats for the homeless in our local communities. The program fosters independence and encourages children to give back to their community. For more information visit www.alphapal.org.
