Biography – Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dirk Müller


Born in 1968, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Müller started his scientific career after having completed his studies in mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and receiving a Bachelor's degree in engineering at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, USA. After completing his doctorate at RWTH Aachen University with a focus on convection and air conditioning, he worked as a process manager for simulation methods in the Research and Development departments at both Robert Bosch GmbH and Behr GmbH.

In 2003, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Müller received an appointment as university professor at the Technical University of Berlin. There, he was head of the Hermann-Rietschel-Institute until 2007 and chair for the "Building Management Systems" course of studies.

In 2007, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Müller returned to RWTH Aachen University and has since been the head of the Institute for Energy Efficient Buildings and Indoor Climate.

For the last few years, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Müller has been closely connected to TROX GmbH as a member of the Supervisory Board and consultant. In addition to his academic activities, he assumed the position of Chief Technical Officer in the TROX GmbH Board of Management starting on 5th July 2011. He is responsible for Research and Development, Product Management, International Production, and Quality Management.
